Worst part of canon is all the bs explanations they do to try and justify why a servant isn't able to be summoned. "Oh Antonio Salieri isn't famous enough to be summoned!" "There's no mystery with Thomas Edison, he'd be a phantom spirit!"

I think the part I hate most are the fate stay night superfans. Yes fsn is really good, arguably my favorite entry even. But holy shit there are a few blogs absolutely obsessed with it, and every other post is ranting about how fsn is the best thing to grace the other, and how all the other fate stuff is possible and will never come close to the light that is stay night.

On the other side of the hand, I hate how much people try to make Guda special. They have to be summoned as a savior class servant or whatever, they have to be the only one who can calm down avenger class servants, they have to be the most specialist protagonist.

Another thing I hate is what I like to call "Trauma-Scaling", which is something that I've found to be relatively exclusive to fate. People will argue ad nauseam about how Shirou had the roughest childhood, or how mentally ill and traumatized Ritsuka is (Completely ignoring Vinci, Mash, etc THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN THERE WITH THEM, noooo it has to be Ritsuka with the ptsd, it has to be ritsuka who's summoned as the avenger/berseker class servant. I've seen it done well in a non cringy way once, and it was with a Gudako x Phantom comic.), and as soon as I saw the discussion start with Iori too I rolled my eyes. People genuinely seem to think what makes a good character is how traumatized they are.

Any discussion on who 'deserves' to be summoned as a servant, because it's like talking to a brick wall. Objectively, a servant being famous does not matter, from a watsonian perspective they might say it does, but it simply doesn't, the writers will add whoever they want to add. Ffs Mandricardo didn't even have a wikipedia page before he was in fgo, and people tell me THOMAS EDISON is objectively not able to be summoned in fate, and he wasn't just made the way he was because a writer thought it sounded cool.

Lu Bu is someone people are surprisingly really annoying about to, since people parrot that line about him being too dangerous to summon as any class but berserker. THIS IS IN SPITE OF THE FACT THAT WE HAVE SUMMONED LIKE 12 AVENGER CLASS SERVANTS, WHOSE ENTIRE SHTICK IS SUPPOSED TO BE WANTING TO KILL HUMANITY, yet someone people can't fucking fathom us just summoning Lu Bu Rider as a rogue servant and becoming friends with him or whatever.

I am sick and tired of people saying that main characters and their servants are 'slept on' and are 'hated by the devs' because they aren't in every other event. Like motherfucker play Fate/Extra, play Fate/Stay Night (Or read the 10 or so spin-offs that have the exact same characters), these characters have an unbelievable amount of spotlight, quit bitching just because they didn't put Tamamo as the main character in fgo.

Okay so I just wanna put my thoughts out here right now because I've not seen many people talk about it and it honestly bothers me a lot...

So, it's no secret that I ship MegOp and stuff right? I like and have reblogged a bunch of art of them before and I will keep doing so, but something about how this place (or more certain parts of the fandom) portray the ship gives me major icks and I fucking hate it so much

Case in point, a massive part of the TFP fanbase likes to ship Orion and Megatronus and I get that, I get why people like shipping those two but it's the WAY they do it. A lot, not all, but most of the fanart surrounding Orion Pax and Megatronus is him being like the smaller and more submissive one of the relationship which fine, whatever, but most people just end up drawing him REALLY small like ik he's shorter than Megs who was a gladiator and all that and he was an archivist but jesus christ... Aside the size which is weird and all but it's really all about the rampant infantilization of the guy. When they remove all agency from the character and act like Orion is gonna fucking combust the moment someone confronts him or tries to fight him like no... I've not read Exodus but I don't think Orion being a nerdy book guy is gonna make him THAT soft, this is still the same mech who became PRIME like cmon

I'm not gonna name blogs but there's this one AU on here where Orion is blind and it has this cutesy artstyle which is fine but I vividly remember reading a comic on that AU where some thugs confront Orion and he's all like sobbing and shit and has to be saved by someone and it's... so you made him disabled and also a crybaby and absolutely incapable of anything??? Does that NOT give you an ick of sorts or seem weird??? God I don't even know anymore because I've seen many people seem to like that so I'm just scared I'm the weird one and wrong for this lmfao... Anyways this post is getting real long, but this kind of "infantilization" also applies to certain fanarts of TFA MegOp, I always thought the ship was bordering on kind of strange (since TFA Optimus is like the equivalent of some 20-something college dropout and Megatron is implied to have been doing the war stuff way way way back like Ratchet's time) but I won't get into that, I just don't ship that certain brand of the characters myself, but it's fine, do what you want with it. Just know that I have seen art of those two where they treat TFA Optimus as this sort of incapable cutesy uwu boy (aaaghh)

So yeah.... hahahaha stop infantilizing characters and taking a ship where they're both grown ass big men and like straight up turning the other one into some weird ass incapable version of the character that lacks any and all agency and honestly bordering on being really icky as fuck, thank you, idc if you make Optimus the bottom or whatever, that's not what I mean, cya ✌️

shinichi's parents didn’t exactly encouraged him to use this power. especially not in public. they’ve seen him revive and re-kill dead plants and animals in the same breath, it doesn’t take a detective to figure out what could happen near a human corpse.

but a young shinichi is curious, a young shinichi admired his father, and a young shinichi wanted to prove himself a detective. but most of all, a young shinichi wanted to help.

so when he saw his father struggle in solving a particular case, a young shinichi figured that maybe asking straight from the source would help give them a hint.

the complete horror in yusaku's eyes shinichi saw that day made him promise himself to never do it again.

shinichi realizes later on that reviving someone just for a clue on the whos, hows, and whys of their death only to touch them again, to basically kill them again, is sick and twisted and the realization leaves him feeling raw and dirty.

he then decides that if he’s gonna find out the truth, if he’s gonna bring justice, it’s not by making the victims suffer a second death. he will unravel the mystery not by magic but by logic.

the curious case of kuroba kaito

hakuba immediately contacts shinichi.

“he was...a friend. if i have to gather all the best detectives to catch his murderer then so be it.”

hakuba goes on to explain.

it was a kid heist. shots were fired. snipers. kaitou kid was caught on camera falling, as if he’d been shot, but he appears a minute later flying away on his glider with not a speck of blood on his suit. all should be well however, a few buildings away in an alleyway, the body of kuroba kaito is found dead. gunshots through the heart and chest.

a simple explanation would’ve been that the glider was a fake activated by kid’s assistant as a last ditch effort to save his legacy and this kuroba kaito was kaitou kid himself. he would’ve said it out loud but by the look on hakuba’s face, he can tell that he already connected those dots long before shinichi even stepped foot in the morgue. that wasn’t what hakuba called him for.

“can i...take a look at the body alone?”

hakuba raises an eye at him but moves to leave without questioning. "alright then. i have to check on another friend anyway. she's been...distraught ever since she heard the news and..." hakuba's words trail away as his eyes unconsciously drifted towards kuroba kaito's covered body. shinichi patiently waits through the quiet pain that he sees on hakuba. the pinch in his brows, the tenseness of his body. he must've been a really good friend.

hakuba shakes his head and turns his attention back to shinichi. "sorry, i...its been a long day. i'll leave you here then. call me if you find anything."

left alone, shinichi carefully zips open the body bag covering kaitou kid's upper body. he looked eerily similar to himself and imagining his own body cold and dead in the morgue sent a shiver down his spine. shaking his head, he pulls a chair close and reads through the file hakuba brought him.

"no witnesses. no camera. not a trace nor lead to anything. just some reports on mysterious gunshots in previous heists that lead to nowhere." they were professionals, whoever did this, shinichi thought. it was not going to be an easy case.

he takes another peek at the body. so this was kaitou kid, huh. too young to be the same as the one before his hiatus. perhaps a successor? motive could be related to his predecessor. his mother hasn't said anything of interest. does she really not know or is she protecting him? he runs his hand through his hair. there's too little information to go on...unless...

temptation rears its head. the source of information is right there in front of him. one touch and it could open up new leads to the case. an immediate disgust twists deep into his gut. he promised himself to never use it on people. to never kill. his father's haunted eyes embedded in his mind. he shouldn't. he really shouldn't. but he remembers the anguished look on hakuba's face. if he was going to do it, this might be the only good time. any longer and his touch would not revive kid. and gone along with him would be vital information to catch his murderer.

shinichi heaves a deep sigh. he has never used his abilities on dead people since that one incident as a child but he couldn't shake off the look on hakuba's face. it was now or never. shinichi reaches for kid's hand.
